Dhaka experiences a tropical wet and dry climate with high temperatures and extreme humidity for most of the year.

The monsoon season from June to October brings relentless rainfall that turns streets into rivers, making waterproof footwear and quick-dry fabrics essential rather than optional.

Temperatures range from around 12°C in winter nights to 40°C in pre-monsoon summer, though the humidity makes it feel considerably hotter than the thermometer suggests.

Humidity regularly exceeds 80% during the wet season and remains high year-round, causing cotton clothing to cling uncomfortably and synthetics to become sweat traps.

Light, loose-fitting clothing in natural fabrics dominates local dress codes for good reason—Dhaka's combination of heat, humidity, and urban pollution makes anything else borderline unbearable.
